The DFV Berlin stands up for the rights of families in Berlin. It works together with other Berlin-wide family associations in the Working Group of Family Associations (AGF).
The guiding principle is that families should not be worse off ‘because of’ their children than childless ‘fellow citizens’.
In addition, the DFV Berlin provides practical social counselling and educational services to help families cope with life’s challenges. All families living in Berlin, regardless of origin or social class, are integrated.
The DFV Berlin ensures the further development of its quality management system (QMS) as part of its membership of the Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband Berlin.
At least twice a year, we inform all interested parties and members about our educational, recreational and counselling services in a newsletter.
We act in a holistic and lifeworld-orientated manner. Our aim is to empower our clients and participants to lead a self-determined and independent life. In doing so, we are able to respond flexibly and in a multi-professional manner to a wide range of needs with our above-mentioned support services. The professionalism of our appropriately trained staff is guaranteed through teamwork and regular training. We also work in various networks in order to be able to achieve common goals more effectively (see our cooperation programmes).
